Hanoi: Dazzling firework shows took place at various sites nationwide on January 29, when the country entered the first day of the Lunar New Year, to welcome the Year of the Snake.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the celebrations were marked by vibrant fireworks displays that lit up the skies across several cities, attracting large crowds who gathered to witness the spectacle. The event symbolized the start of the Lunar New Year, an important cultural festival in Vietnam.

The firework displays were organized in major cities, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, where residents and visitors alike gathered in popular locations to enjoy the celebrations. The festivities began as soon as the clock struck midnight, marking the official transition into the Year of the Snake.

In addition to the fireworks, traditional activities such as lion dances, cultural performances, and family gatherings were held throughout the country, further enhancing the festive atmosphere. The Lunar New Year, also known as Tet, is the most significant holiday in Vietnam, characterized by various customs and traditions aimed at bringing luck and prosperity for the coming year.
