First Government Session of 2026 Convened

Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 4 presided over the Government's meeting for January, marking the first cabinet session of 2026 - the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress for the 2026-2030 term. Opening the meeting, held online with local authorities nationwide, the PM noted that the global landscape at the start of 2026 remains fast-changing, complex and difficult to forecast.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on assessing the socio-economic situation of the country in January and discussing measures to implement key tasks for the coming months. The government emphasized the importance of maintaining stability and fostering economic growth amid global uncertainties. Discussions also included strategies for improving public services and enhancing cooperation between central and local authorities.

The session highlighted the government's commitment to addressing challenges and leveraging opportunities in the international arena. The Prime Minister called for concerted efforts from all sectors to achieve the goals set out in the party congress resolution.
