Dong nai: Following the administrative merger with Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces, Ho Chi Minh City has gained new advantages for developing its seaport system, creating favourable conditions for the growth of logistics, port services, international trade, maritime services, and the coastal economy. Under the 2026-2030 Action Plan for implementing the national import-export strategy, the city has identified investment in logistics infrastructure as a key priority. Resources will be mobilized to increase the volume of import and export cargo handled directly through its network of seaports, airports, railway terminals, and inland container depots (ICDs), with the aim of improving competitiveness and reducing logistics costs. According to Vietnam News Agency, this strategic move positions Ho Chi Minh City as a central hub in the region's maritime economy. The expansion of its logistical capabilities is expected to significantly bolster the city's role in international trade, providing enhanced connec tivity and streamlined operations for businesses and stakeholders involved in import and export activities. This initiative is part of a broader effort to capitalize on the city's geographic advantages and robust infrastructure to drive economic growth and development in the coming years.
