Lai Chau: A landslide struck the construction site of a hydropower plant in Lai Chau province, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the incident took place at approximately 10 am at the Ta Pao Ho 1A hydropower project in Si Lo Lau commune, Phong Tho district. The landslide led to five individuals being reported missing and four others suffering injuries.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh responded swiftly to the crisis by issuing an urgent directive on May 16. The directive called on various ministries, agencies, and local authorities to concentrate their efforts on managing the aftermath of the unfortunate event.
