Hanoi: A legal assistance project launched in November 2022 has delivered measurable results in Vietnam's disadvantaged mountainous provinces, particularly Dien Bien and Lao Cai, officials told a conference co-hosted by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the World Bank (WB), and the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi on July 16.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the project has successfully achieved 95% of its intended goals. This initiative aimed to improve access to legal services for communities in remote areas, enhancing their legal literacy and capacity to address legal issues effectively. The project has provided vital legal education and assistance to thousands of individuals who previously had limited access to such resources.
The conference highlighted the collaborative efforts between the MoJ, WB, and the Japanese Embassy, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in addressing legal disparities. The participants discussed the positive impact of the project and explored opportunities for future initiatives to further support these communities. The legal assistance project is expected to officially conclude in the coming months, with plans to sustain the progress achieved through ongoing local partnerships and community engagement.
