Hanoi: National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man hosted separate receptions in Hanoi on January 13 for Cambodian Ambassador Chea Kimtha, US Ambassador Marc Knapper, and Philippine Ambassador Meynardo L.B. Montealegre, who came to bid farewell to the top legislator at the end of their tenures in Vietnam.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the ambassadors expressed gratitude towards the Vietnamese government and people for their support and cooperation during their respective terms. Ambassador Chea Kimtha highlighted the strengthening of Cambodia-Vietnam relations, while Ambassador Marc Knapper noted the progress in bilateral cooperation between the US and Vietnam. Meanwhile, Ambassador Meynardo L.B. Montealegre emphasized the enduring friendship between the Philippines and Vietnam.
Chairman Tran Thanh Man acknowledged the contributions of the ambassadors in fostering diplomatic ties and expressed his hope for continued collaboration between Vietnam and the three countries. The receptions marked the end of the ambassadors' service in Vietnam, with each of them receiving well-wishes for their future endeavors.
