Pilot “Smart Police Station” Kiosk Launched in Hanoi

Hanoi: A 'Smart police station' kiosk was officially launched for pilot operation in the capital city of Hanoi on August 15 morning. Located at 89 Dinh Tien Hoang Street near Hoan Kiem Lake, this kiosk offers multi-language support to assist both local residents and tourists. This station is part of the "multi-service kiosk ecosystem" spearheaded by the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order (C06) under the Ministry of Public Security. The project aims to leverage national population data, digital identity, and electronic authentication to provide safer and more efficient public services.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the smart kiosk is equipped with advanced technology designed to streamline various services that the police department offers. This includes facilitating administrative procedures that typically require in-person visits to police stations, such as reporting incidents and applying for permits. The kiosk is expected to reduce the workload on physical police stations and provide a convenient alternative for those seeking police services in the bustling area around Hoan Kiem Lake.

The initiative is part of a broader government effort to incorporate digital solutions into public administration, enhancing the overall efficiency of service delivery. By integrating national population data and electronic authentication systems, the smart police station aims to ensure that services are not only fast but also secure. This digital transformation is anticipated to address long-standing challenges related to the accessibility and efficiency of police services.

The pilot project will be closely monitored, and its success could lead to the deployment of similar kiosks across other parts of the city and potentially nationwide. The Ministry of Public Security has expressed optimism that this model will serve as a blueprint for modernizing public service infrastructure throughout Vietnam.
