Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the inauguration ceremony of the new Phong Chau bridge – National Highway 32C in Phu Tho province on September 28. The new Phong Chau bridge replaces the old bridge whose two main spans collapsed in September 2024 due to the impact of super typhoon Yagi. The bridge connects Phung Nguyen and Van Xuan communes of Phu Tho province.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the newly constructed bridge spans over 653 meters in length and is 20.5 meters wide, with a scale of four lanes dedicated to motor vehicles. The total investment for the bridge’s construction amounted to over 635 billion VND. The project was prioritized as an emergency response to restore critical infrastructure impacted by the natural disaster.
