Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, head of the National Civil Defence Steering Committee, on July 24 chaired the committee’s meeting over disaster response, and search and rescue efforts, with priorities outlined for the time ahead. The hybrid meeting was connected to 34 provinces and cities, reaching 3,321 grassroots-level locations across the country.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting emphasized the necessity of enhancing the nation’s readiness to tackle disasters. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of a coordinated approach in disaster management and urged all relevant bodies to improve their response strategies. The aim is to minimize damage and ensure quick recovery in the event of natural disasters.
The National Civil Defence Steering Committee is focused on implementing more robust infrastructure and safety measures. The committee is also working on improving communication channels among local authorities to ensure timely and effective disaster response. The Prime Minister highlighted the need for continuous training and resource allocation to support these initiatives.
