Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on June 29 asked the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) to continue supporting Vietnam’s green transition, especially by soon providing financial assistance for 15 green transition projects worth over 20 billion USD. Receiving JBIC Chairman Maeda Tadashi and his delegation in Hanoi, PM Chinh expressed his belief that each meeting between the two sides would help further advance their cooperation.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of these projects in aiding Vietnam’s efforts to transition towards a sustainable economy. The proposed projects are expected to cover various sectors, including renewable energy, clean technology, and sustainable agriculture, aligning with Vietnam’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
JBIC Chairman Maeda Tadashi acknowledged Vietnam’s potential in green energy and expressed the bank’s keen interest in bolstering these initiatives. He highlighted the mutual benefits that could arise from these projects and affirmed JBIC’s commitment to working closely with Vietnam to ensure successful implementation.
The collaboration between Vietnam and JBIC is seen as a strategic move to leverage international expertise and investment in advancing Vietnam’s green economy. This partnership is expected to set a precedent for future cooperation in environmental sustainability between the two nations.
