PM Chairs Meeting on Developing National Strategy on Rare Earths

Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of standing Government members in Hanoi on January 17 to discuss the development of a National Strategy on Rare Earths. The standing cabinet members also looked into a draft Government resolution on mechanisms to remove difficulties and obstacles for transitional BT (build-transfer) projects, a draft decree detailing the handling of obstacles related to BT transport projects, and several other issues.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on addressing the challenges and potential solutions for advancing the country's rare earths strategy. The discussion included evaluating the current status of rare earth resources and exploring ways to enhance the national framework to better harness these resources.

Additionally, the standing Government members examined a draft resolution aimed at resolving hurdles faced by transitional BT projects. This includes measures to streamline processes and improve efficiency in the implementation of these projects. The meeting also delved into a draft decree that provides detailed guidance on overcoming obstacles related to BT transport projects, ensuring smooth execution and completion.

The discussions are part of a broader effort by the government to address various infrastructural and strategic issues, with the ultimate goal of fostering economic growth and development.
