PM Urges Lao Cai to Turn Advantages into Development Drivers

Hanoi: Prime Minister Le Minh Hung called on the northern border province of Lao Cai to turn challenges into opportunities, transform its border location into strategic advantages and leveraging its unique strengths and potential as drivers of growth, while chairing a working session with the provincial Party Committee's Standing Board in Yen Bai ward, on July 14. Earlier the same day, PM Hung offered flowers and incense at the provincial Martyrs' Cemetery in tribute to fallen soldiers, and visited the family of Tran Thi Vinh, 92, the mother of a martyr and wife of a veteran revolutionary, in Yen Bai ward.

According to Vietnam News Agency, PM Hung emphasized the need for Lao Cai to capitalize on its geographical position, which borders China, as a potential hub for trade and economic cooperation. He urged local authorities to focus on sustainable development, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting tourism, given the province's rich cultural heritage and natural landscapes.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of investing in human resources, calling for initiatives to improve education and vocational training in the province. By doing so, Lao Cai could ensure a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of a dynamic economy.

During his visit, PM Hung reiterated the government's commitment to supporting Lao Cai in its development efforts, stressing the importance of collaborative governance and community engagement to achieve these goals. His visit underscores the strategic significance of Lao Cai in the broader context of national development and regional integration.
