Polling Stations Open Early as Vietnam Celebrates Election Day

Hanoi: Election Day in Vietnam has transformed into a vibrant national festival, characterized by festive decorations and widespread enthusiasm. At precisely 7am on March 15, polling stations across the nation officially opened their doors to voters. In some areas, especially in central Gia Lai and southern Tay Ninh provinces, the day began even earlier, with over 1,000 polling stations in Gia Lai starting operations at 5am.

According to Vietnam News Agency, by 10am, nine provinces reported a turnout rate exceeding 50%. The northern mountainous province of Lao Cai approached a 70% turnout, while several other regions surpassed the 40% mark. Nationally, the average voter turnout reached 40% by 10am, reflecting the population's strong engagement in the electoral process.
