RoK Navy Training Ship Makes Friendly Port Call in Da Nang

Da nang: The Republic of Korea Navy’s training ship ROKS Hansando, carrying 375 officers and sailors and led by Rear Admiral Hong Sang Yong, arrived at Tien Sa Port on December 2 for a four-day friendly visit to Da Nang city. During the visit, the ship’s officers and crew will pay courtesy calls on the Da Nang People’s Committee, Military Region 5, and Naval Region 3, hold professional exchanges and sports activities with Vietnamese naval officers; and visit cultural and tourist sites in the city.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the purpose of the visit is to strengthen the ties between the naval forces of the Republic of Korea and Vietnam. The visit includes a variety of activities aimed at fostering goodwill and understanding between the two nations. The crew’s itinerary involves engaging in professional exchanges designed to enhance cooperation and share expertise with their Vietnamese counterparts.

In addition to formal meetings and exchanges, the visit also features sports activities that aim to build camaraderie among officers and sailors from both countries. These activities are part of a broader effort to encourage cultural exchange and mutual respect.

The visit also provides an opportunity for the Korean naval officers and sailors to experience the rich cultural heritage of Da Nang. Planned tours will allow them to explore the city’s cultural and tourist sites, offering insights into the local customs and traditions.
