TAT invites you to visit the creepy Wiang Ping festival in Chiang Mai.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) invites Chiang Mai residents and tourists to experience the mysterious event Wiang Ping: Mae Nak Aew Nuea in Chiang Mai Province, which is a sequel to the Makkasan event in Bangkok, which brings together activities related to the beliefs and faiths of Thai people and a variety of foods. The event will start on 29 August – 1 September 2024 at a public park on land owned by the State Railway of Thailand in Chiang Mai Province.

TAT and Chiang Mai Province are organizing the Wiang Ping Spooky Festival. The event is set in the public park of the State Railway of Thailand in Chiang Mai Province, which has a long history during World War II. It was bombed with many deaths before a new building was built on top of it. The highlight of the Wiang Ping Spooky Festival starts at the entrance, where a large replica of Mae Nak will be seen holding Ai Daeng to welcome visitors and allow them to take photos. a, including the spirit house, the Blood Bridge, and Mae Nak standing at various points. The event also features stories of Lanna Thai culture and beliefs, while also creating fun by imitating temple fairs, which are both fun and exciting, allowing tourists to gain new experiences.

In the event, there are more than 70 booths, divided into 8 categories: the auspicious amulet category, the food category, both local food and special menus, such as meatballs with a talisman and cooked with consecrated water, the worship category, asking for blessings and fortune, the merit category, joining in making merit by donating coffins to the Sawang Samret Chiang Mai Foundation and donating items, the fortune category, with fortune telling, the fun category with the Ferris wheel and the girl falling into the water, the horror category with the haunted gallery, outdoor ghost movies, and finally the yoke category with concerts by Lanna Commins and The Voice artists.

This event will start from August 29 – September 1, 4:00
PM – 11:00 PM. Participants will receive a sacred thread. TAT hopes that this event will impress tourists and encourage them to continue their travels to various tourist attractions in Chiang Mai, including paying homage to the Buddha image of their birth year and asking for blessings at various temples to enhance their lives.
