UAVs Help Detect Violations, Ease Traffic Bottlenecks in Hanoi

Hanoi: The capital city of Hanoi is piloting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to detect traffic and urban order violations and help ease congestion, initially in Hoan Kiem and Tay Ho wards. The UAVs can identify six types of violations, including illegal parking, street vending, illegal racing, speeding, and carrying weapons. The UAVs have so far helped authorities detect and handle 510 violations.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the deployment of UAVs is part of a broader initiative to improve urban management and enhance the efficiency of law enforcement in the city. The UAVs are equipped with cameras and sensors to monitor and capture real-time data on traffic and other activities. The initiative aims to address issues related to urban order and safety, providing a technological solution to longstanding challenges in managing the city's bustling streets.

The use of UAVs is expected to expand to other areas of Hanoi following the pilot phase. Authorities are assessing the effectiveness of the program and considering further applications of UAV technology in urban management. The initiative demonstrates a commitment to leveraging modern technology in addressing urban challenges, with a focus on improving the quality of life for residents.
