Vietnam and Laos Reaffirm Defence Cooperation at Da Nang Dialogue

Da nang: The 6th Vietnam-Laos Defence Policy Dialogue was held in the central city of Da Nang on April 3, emphasizing a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral defence cooperation. The discussions come at a time of evolving regional and global security challenges, highlighting the importance of strong defense ties between the two nations. The dialogue was co-chaired by Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defence of Vietnam, and Sen. Lieut. Gen. Saichay Kommasith, Deputy Minister of National Defence and Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People's Army.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the defence policy dialogue served as a platform for both countries to discuss and strategize on various aspects of military collaboration. The leaders reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening defence ties through increased cooperation in areas such as training, intelligence sharing, and joint exercises. The meeting underscored the mutual benefits of a robust bilateral defence relationship, which aims to contribute to regional stability and security.
