Vietnam, Cambodia Promote Substantive Cooperation

Phnom penh: A delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong paid a visit to Cambodia from January 12-13, during which they held meetings with senior Cambodian officials to discuss measures to enhance substantive and effective cooperation between the two countries. On January 13, Cuong had a meeting with Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul during which the Vietnamese official highly valued bilateral trade cooperation, noting that two-way trade reached 11.33 billion USD in 2025.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the visit aimed to strengthen ties and explore new avenues for collaboration in various sectors. Both parties expressed commitment to boosting economic relations, ensuring mutual benefits and sustainable growth. The meetings underscored the importance of sustained dialogues and exchanges to better understand each other's needs and capabilities.

The Vietnamese delegation also emphasized the need for continuous efforts in implementing agreements made between the two nations. Discussions included topics such as trade facilitation, investment opportunities, and enhancing connectivity in infrastructure and logistics. The Cambodian officials expressed their willingness to work closely with Vietnam to achieve these goals, highlighting the positive impact on regional stability and development.

The visit concluded with both sides agreeing to maintain frequent communication and coordination to address any challenges that may arise, ensuring a steady path towards increased cooperation and partnership in the coming years.
