Vietnam Ramps Up Support for Flood-Hit Central and Central Highlands Regions

Hanoi: Authorities and relevant forces are intensifying efforts to support residents in the Central and Central Highlands regions as historic flooding continues to inflict widespread damage.

According to Vietnam News Agency, as of 18:30 on November 24, floods had damaged 1,307 hectares of aquaculture, more than 117,000 hectares of crops, and about 82,400 hectares of rice and vegetables. Over 3.37 million livestock and poultry were killed or swept away, and 202,567 houses were inundated.

Landslides have disrupted traffic at 12 points along National Highways 20 and 27C. Additionally, 15 damaged railway sections between Dong Tac-Phu Hiep and Phu Hiep-Hao Son remain under repair. Initial losses are estimated at 13.2 trillion VND (500 million USD).

Efforts are underway to mitigate the impact of the floods, with emergency services and local authorities working to provide relief and support to affected communities. The government is mobilizing resources to ensure that recovery and rebuilding efforts can commen
ce as soon as conditions allow.
