Hanoi: Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang on February 25 met with Acting Secretary for Defence of South Africa Thobekile Gamede as part of the latter’s visit to Vietnam to co-chair the third Vietnam-South Africa Defence Policy Dialogue.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting between the two officials was a significant step in reinforcing the defence relations between Vietnam and South Africa. The dialogue aimed to enhance mutual understanding and explore opportunities for cooperation in various defence-related areas. Both parties expressed their commitment to continue developing their defence partnership, focusing on areas such as training, information sharing, and joint exercises.
