Vietnam: Vietnam has been actively rolling out a range of coordinated measures to ensure national energy security and prevent fuel shortages for production, business activities, and daily consumption, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang has said. Responding to reporters' questions on April 23 regarding Vietnam's efforts to ensure fuel supply amid ongoing complexities in the Middle East, Hang noted that relevant agencies and fuel import-export enterprises have maintained close coordination with international partners to ensure the full and timely implementation of signed long-term supply contracts.
According to Vietnam News Agency, these proactive measures are crucial as the global energy landscape faces disruptions, particularly due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has emphasized that Vietnam's strategy involves both short-term and long-term planning to mitigate potential risks and to sustain a stable fuel supply chain. This includes reinforcing relationships with key international suppliers and exploring alternative energy sources to diversify its fuel portfolio.
The Ministry also highlighted the importance of domestic policy adjustments and infrastructure improvements to bolster energy efficiency and reduce dependence on imported fuel. These steps are seen as vital to maintaining Vietnam's economic stability and supporting its growth trajectory in the face of uncertain global energy dynamics.
