Vietnam Surpasses Expressway Target with Over 3,800 km Completed

Hanoi: The decisive engagement of the Government, the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, and the entire political system was the key factor enabling Vietnam to surpass its target of 3,000 km of expressways during the 2021-2025 term, according to Nguyen Tri Duc, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Construction. Speaking at the Government's regular press briefing, Duc stated that by the end of 2025, a total of 3,345 km of main expressway routes had been put into operation or technically opened to traffic, along with 458 km of interchanges and connecting roads. This brought the total length to 3,803 km, far exceeding the target of 3,000 km. Notably, the North-South Expressway from Cao Bang to Ca Mau has been completed and technically opened.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the successful completion of this extensive expressway network is attributed to the concerted efforts of various government levels and the political infrastructure. The North-South Expressway, a significant component of this development, has been recognized as a crucial route enhancing connectivity and economic growth across the region. The expressway project reflects the government's commitment to infrastructure development as a means to boost economic progress and connectivity in Vietnam.
