Wartime Bomb Safely Detonated in Tuyen Quang

Tuyen quang: A bomb left over from the war was safely destroyed in the northern province of Tuyen Quang on January 8, local authorities said. The device, which still had its detonator intact, was discovered by residents along the Lo River in Bac Muc hamlet, Ham Yen commune. The discovery was reported on January 7 after locals spotted a suspicious object near the riverbank.

According to Vietnam News Agency, local authorities acted promptly to secure the area and ensure the safety of residents. Bomb disposal experts were called to the scene to assess the situation and carry out the detonation. The operation was conducted without incident, and no injuries were reported.

The presence of wartime ordnance remains a concern in several areas across the region. Efforts are ongoing to locate and safely dispose of such devices to prevent potential hazards to local communities. The authorities have urged residents to report any suspicious objects to local officials.
