Vietnamese PM Meets with Singaporean, German, Egyptian, Norwegian Counterparts in Johannesburg

Johannesburg: Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held bilateral meetings with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St¸re in Johannesburg on November 23, as part of his activities on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in South Africa.

According to Vietnam News Agency, these meetings provided an opportunity for Vietnam to strengthen its diplomatic ties and explore avenues for cooperation with each of these nations. Discussions covered a range of topics including trade, investment, and regional security, reflecting Vietnam’s commitment to fostering international partnerships.

The meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong emphasized enhancing economic collaboration, with both leaders expressing interest in increasing bilateral trade. Similarly, the dialogue with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz focused on technological cooperation and investment opportunities in Vietnam.

During his conversation with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister Chinh discussed the potential for collaboration in agriculture and education. Meanwhile, the meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St¸re highlighted the importance of sustainable development and environmental conservation initiatives.

Prime Minister Chinh’s engagements in Johannesburg underscore Vietnam’s strategic efforts to engage with global leaders and reinforce its presence on the international stage. The bilateral meetings aim to create mutually beneficial outcomes and contribute to Vietnam’s economic and diplomatic objectives.
