Vietnam’s Top Legislator Visits Vovinam Club in Senegal

Dakar: Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man and his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga joined President of the Senegalese NA El Malick Ndiaye in visiting the Vovinam martial arts club in Dakar on July 23 afternoon (local time) as part of the Vietnamese leader’s official visit to the African country. Dr. Diomaye Dieng, President of Senegal’s Vovinam Federation, stressed that the traditional martial art training transforms practitioners into exemplary citizens who actively participate in national development, community service, and social contribution.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the visit underscores the cultural exchange between Vietnam and Senegal, highlighting the growing interest in Vovinam, a Vietnamese martial art, in the West African nation. The meeting between the two national assembly leaders also served to strengthen diplomatic ties and promote cultural understanding through shared interests.

The Vietnamese delegation’s visit to the Vovinam club was part of a broader effort to enhance bilateral relations and promote mutual cooperation between Vietnam and Senegal. The cultural exchange represented by Vovinam is seen as a vehicle for fostering closer ties and understanding between the people of the two countries.
