Ca Mau – Vietnam’s Capital of Shrimp

Ca mau: After the recent merger of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces, Ca Mau is a province with an aquaculture area of about 450,900 hectares, shrimp output continues to lead the country by about 566,000 tons, export turnover reaches about 2.48 billion USD, becoming a place with prime locations for the shrimp production and processing industry. The province plans to spend 20 trillion VND (800 million USD) to promote the development of the shrimp industry with a plan that, by 2030, the province will be the biggest shrimp raising hub in the Mekong River Delta region.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the strategic plan aims to capitalize on the province’s existing aquaculture strengths, enhancing its capacity and infrastructure to support the burgeoning shrimp industry. The investment is expected to boost the local economy, creating jobs and enhancing the technological capabilities of shrimp farming and processing in the region.

rating with international partners to improve shrimp quality and production efficiency. By positioning itself as a leader in the shrimp industry, Ca Mau seeks to attract global attention and investment, solidifying its status as a key player in Vietnam’s aquaculture sector.
