Hanoi: Vietnam and China held the first 3+3 ministerial strategic dialogue in Hanoi on March 16, with the participation of the two countries' ministers of foreign affairs, national defense, and public security. The Vietnamese participants included Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung; Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang; and Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang. The Chinese delegation included Foreign Minister Wang Yi; Minister of National Defense Dong Jun; and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong.
According to Vietnam News Agency, this strategic dialogue marks a significant step in fostering diplomatic and security cooperation between Vietnam and China. The dialogue aimed to enhance mutual understanding and address various regional and global issues of common concern. Both sides exchanged views on maintaining regional stability and advancing bilateral relations.
During the discussions, the ministers emphasized the importance of communication and cooperation in national defense, public security, and foreign affairs. They agreed on the necessity to strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership and to resolve differences through dialogue and negotiation.
The 3+3 ministerial dialogue is expected to establish a framework for future engagements and collaborations between the two nations, reflecting their commitment to regional peace and stability.
