SAN DIEGO, Dec. 20, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) flew the new NATO Pod for the first time on Nov. 23, 2022. The NATO Pod is a joint development between GA-ASI and Sener Aeroespacial of Spain. The NATO Pod is built by Sener Aeroespacial in Europe to meet NATO airworthiness standards, while increasing configuration and payload options for MQ-9A and MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft produced by GA-ASI. The new product is designed for international customers that are interested in rapidly integrating sovereign payload capabilities to achieve specific mission objectives.

The test flight was performed at the Yuma Proving Grounds using a GA-ASI owned MQ-9A aircraft.

NATO Pod development was driven by GA-ASI’s desire to provide customers with a customizable, multi-use pod for carriage of sovereign, cross-domain Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) sensors for MQ-9A and MQ-9B RPA systems. GA-ASI is working with Sener and other European suppliers to integrate their sensor capabilities within this new pod. The NATO Pod is a flexible, scalable, certifiable enclosure with the structural features to host wide-ranging mission systems. The pod meets DEF STAN and STANAG certification standards for airworthiness, including lightning protection and bird impact.

The NATO Pod interfaces with common MQ-9 aircraft power and navigation interfaces, including the platform datalink connection to the Ground Control Station (GCS). Customer system integration is based on using a common set of interfaces to the aircraft and GCS systems.

“This is a truly momentous product design and implementation effort,” said GA-ASI Vice President of Mission Payloads and Exploitation, Satish Krishnan. “We’ve worked closely with Sener to meet requirements and keep our combined teams in sync to achieve this great outcome. Our successful test flight allows us to begin marketing this new capability to our international partner nations as a way to rapidly add sovereign payload capability.”

Rafael Orbe, Defence General Director at Sener Aeroespacial, said: “This first flight is the fruit of a long collaboration between GA-ASI and Sener and we are proud to have contributed to the success of the project. We look forward to continuing the good work together, which we are sure will bring us more successes in the future.”

This industrial cooperation effort introduces European manufacturing of GA-ASI designed mission hardware and opens the door to customer-specified mission payloads – including technologies that are built outside the U.S. – for deployment on MQ-9A and MQ-9B. The NATO Pod that was tested featured a payload built by Arpège S.A.S. France.

MQ-9As are operated by a number of European countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain. GA-ASI’s newer MQ-9B variant has been acquired by the UK and Belgium. Recently Poland announced that it will lease MQ-9A.

It is part of GSF’s global expansion plans, which will include M&As of greenfield projects.

Signing of MoU

Signing of MoU

SINGAPORE, Dec. 20, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Global Schools Foundation (GSF) Singapore, the award-winning not-for-profit foundation, plans to invest over US$500 million in India’s school education sector by Year 2026, as it continues its global expansion plan to serve more communities across Europe, the Middle East, India and Japan.

Recognised as the world’s most awarded school network with more than 450 international awards in Business and Education Excellence, GSF already has a network of 35 campuses across 11 countries. Its schools offer multiple curricula like International Baccalaureate, Cambridge IGCSE and Indian CBSE to nearly 32000 students of more than 70 nationalities.

The new investment in India is aimed to fulfill the massive post-Covid increase in demand from domestic communities moving across Indian cities, as well as relocating families from and into India. Many existing student communities from international regions across East Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, the U.K. and the U.S. are relocating to cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.

GSF’s expansion will include Mergers and Acquisitions of greenfield projects into cities that also include Mumbai, Madurai, Noida and Nagpur.

“It is imperative that GSF takes necessary steps in investing to provide guaranteed admissions to such relocating students across its networks with zero disruptions,” said Mr. Atul Temurnikar, Executive Chairman and Co-founder of GSF.

The most recent step in this direction was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Noida Authority and GSF with support from Enterprise Singapore, a division of Ministry of Trade and Industry-Republic of Singapore. The MoU commits to the investment towards new international schools that will offer International Baccalaureate and Cambridge IGCSE education in addition to CBSE.

In the last 20 years, GSF schools – like Global Indian International School and One World International School – have ranked high for their results in IB exams, with 96 students having scored World Topper (45/45) and Near Perfect Scores (44/45) in the IB Diploma exams. Over 800 students have scored A*s and As in seven or more subjects in Cambridge IGCSE.

GSF students receive offers from world’s leading universities, including some of the Ivy League colleges such as Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, UC Berkeley and others, and every year over 150 universities from around the world visit school campuses for career guidance to students. Its 2500 faculty members undergo extensive and continuous training and development programmes in skills and subject-matter expertise.

GSF has only recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with much fanfare.

OKC (OKX Chain) Launches Flexible Liquid Staking, Delivers Enhanced Liquidity and Accessibility

  • OKC Liquid Staking lowers barriers to entry for staking while allowing users to deploy staked tokens elsewhere
  • Users can stake OKT through Liquid Staking to receive up to 40% APR

VICTORIA, Seychelles, Dec. 20, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — OKC (OKX Chain), the EVM and IBC-compatible chain backed by OKX, has announced the launch of its Liquid Staking protocol. Liquid Staking is a key element of the rapidly-expanding DeFi ecosystem on OKC. It provides a way for OKC users to effectively and flexibly utilize the chain’s native token, OKT, while offering users staking rewards of up to 40% APR.

Better Liquidity & Asset Utilization for OKC Users
By offering users staking rewards with no minimum token investment requirement and no lock-up period, Liquid Staking addresses problems with conventional staking products that include inaccessibility and illiquidity.

OKC Liquid Staking also allows users to earn staking rewards on their OKT while deploying the tokens in other protocols. Users can utilize Liquid Staking to stake OKT and receive stOKT (staked OKT) in return. They can then deploy the stOKT in on-chain DeFi protocols to earn more rewards or swap the stOKT for OKT on the OKX DEX.

Chai Li, Head of Ecosystem Development, OKC, said: “Liquid Staking is a key element of our vision for promoting decentralization and creating more opportunities for OKX users. Liquid Staking adds liquidity and utility of assets, and also plays an important role in boosting on-chain TVL and ecosystem development. We’re thrilled to see Liquid Staking grow in parallel with OKC’s other DeFi products and lay the foundation for advanced protocols being developed on-chain in the future.”

Bolstering the OKC Ecosystem
OKC, also known as OKX Chain, is built to empower DeFi and Web3 adoption globally. It offers DApp developers the means to deploy their applications and crypto assets on the OKC ecosystem while enjoying the benefits of high throughput, low gas fees, and a secure network.

The launch of Liquid Staking is expected to contribute to a higher TVL (or total value locked) on the OKC network, allowing it to further expand its capabilities and the benefits it offers to users.

Users can now stake OKT through OKC Liquid Staking to receive rewards of up to 40% APR.

In the letter, Chien said this year, the Christmas comes in the new normal, despite the COVID-19 pandemic has still been witnessing complicated developments but it has been basically controlled.

The Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam and many Protestant organisations  have successfully organised their own congresses and elected new leadership this year, he wrote.

Catholic and Protestant dignitaries, priests and followers have continued standing side by side with the Party, State and VFF in patriotic emulation movements, new-style rural area building, humanitarian and social welfare activities, environmental protection and the fight against COVID-19, contributing to the country’s common achievements in socio-economic recovery and development, he wrote, adding that he highly appreciated their positive contributions to the country.

The Front leader expressed his firm belief that Catholic and Protestant dignitaries, priests and followers will continue building on the tradition of patriotism and stay united together with the people nationwide in socio-economic development, thus improving the material and spiritual lives and building a country of prosperity and well-being.

In conclusion, Chien wished Catholic and Protestant dignitaries, priests and followers a New Year of happiness, good health and success.

The same day, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Mass Mobilisation Bui Thi Minh Hoai visited and extended Christmas greetings to the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) and the church head, Pastor Bui Van San.

On behalf of leaders of the Party, State, and the VFF, Hoai wished the church and over 30,000 followers a merry Christmas and good health.

She expressed her joy at the development of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) and praised the church for its active participation in charity activities to help those in disadvantaged circumstances.

The Party official emphasized that the country’s socio-economic achievements over the past year are attributable to the strong leadership of the Party, Government and National Assembly, and the consensus of the entire nation, including Protestant dignitaries and followers.

Pastor San thanked the care of the Government and Hanoi authorities, which he said have always created favourable conditions for the church to operate stable and further develop.

He pledged to continue encouraging Protestants to follow the motto of “Serving God, the Fatherland and People’, and actively respond to patriotic movements, contributing more to the cause of national construction and defence./.

HCM City, RoK’s Busan city look forward to stronger ties

Ho Chi Minh City is ready to work with the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Busan city to hold cultural, art and sport exchanges, contributing to raising mutual understanding and cooperation between people from the two cities, said Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council Nguyen Van Dung.

During a reception on December 20 for Chairman of Busan Metropolitan Council Ahn Sung-min, Dung hailed the RoK as the fourth largest investor in HCM City with 2,000 projects worth nearly 5.4 billion USD. Around 2,000 Korean firms are doing business and around 80,000 Koreans are living and working in the city, building an important bridge between the two nations.

Dung said the exchange of delegations led by the two cities’ leaders has contributed to propelling cooperation between the localities, especially in fields of their strength and interest.

Ahn, for his part, said his visit aims to further intensify friendly cooperation between the two cities. He said Ho Chi Minh City would contribute to Busan’s development and both sides’ efforts to become influential cities in the region.

Expressing his impression on Ho Chi Minh City’s vibrant development, Ahn said Busan always welcomes cooperation from foreign partners and stays ready to share its strengths with the city.

He hoped the two cities will work closely together based on their own strengths to bring practical benefits, firstly in cultural and art and people-to-people exchanges.
