Abel Noser Finishes Year with an Impressive List of Achievements

Highlights Include New Product Launches, Numerous Industry Partnerships, and a Ramping Up of Trade Surveillance Services

New York, NY, Dec. 29, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Abel Noser Holdings, the market leader in institutional trade analytics and agency-only trading solutions, has many notable achievements to look back on this year as 2022 comes to a close.

For instance, the company’s analytics arm, Abel Noser Solutions, began offering a first-of-its-kind global options TCA product that covers all options strategies from covered calls to complex spread strategies.  The offering enables clients to quantify the transaction costs of options hedging, income and more speculative strategies while evaluating broker performance metrics and execution quality.  There were also many enhancements to the firm’s fixed income TCA product suite.

Subsidiary Zeno AN Solutions launched an ESG-agnostic consensus ratings product for asset owners that provides portfolio-level analysis to help assess, measure and monitor the degree to which manager practices are consistent with client ESG policies. On the broker-dealer side, Abel Noser LLC’s revolutionary START platform, a customizable execution algorithmic solution integrated with industry-leading analytics, was rolled-out as a way for fund managers to proactively meet diversity and inclusion goals through a network of participating MWBE brokers while also mitigating best execution risk in an increasingly challenging trading environment.

Sell-side regulatory services had a busy year including partnering with Capital Market Solutions to offer clients comprehensive FINRA CAT and CAIS solutions before key 2022 deadlines. Additionally, the group developed a set of new regulatory tools to help brokers identify improper or illegal trading activity while also evidencing best execution.  Firm clients continue to call for cost-effective auditing and reporting tools, as well as regulatory services to mitigate their ongoing risk of potential fines or damage to their reputations.

2022 was also a busy year for Abel Noser channel partnerships including strategic liaisons with major industry players like JP Morgan’s Neovest.  Partnerships with more niche players included working with the Hackett Group for MWBE brokerage programs, and OWL ESG for consensus ESG data that powers the new fund holdings analysis product.

“As for the coming year, Abel Noser expects best execution requirements for brokers and managers to continue to be updated and quantified including calls for more fixed income transparency, pending updates to SEC Rule 605 and various FINRA directives,” remarked Peter Weiler, Co-CEO of Abel Noser Holdings. “We also expect a continued ramping up of electronic and algorithmic trading, plus greater emphasis on trading clarity and oversight from all sectors.”

“We’re proud of the many successes our top-notch team has accomplished this past year,” added Steve Glass, Co-CEO of Abel Noser Holdings. “We again look forward to applying the firm’s resources and leading position as the overall market matures and becomes more data-driven.”

Target of 6.5% economic growth for 2023 is a challenge: GSO leader

The target of 6.5% economic growth set by the National Assembly for next year, lower than the growth of 8.02% recorded in 2022, will be a challenge, said General Director of the General Statistics Office (GSO) Nguyen Thi Huong.

In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), Huong said the growth target is based on pillars such as agro-forestry-fishery, processing industries, tourism, consumption and public investment. Political stability and social security are also expected to maintain growth momentum next year.

In particular, it is forecast that 2023 will be a promising year for the agro-forestry-fishery sector, a mainstay of the whole economy that plays an important role in ensuring global food security and maintains Vietnam’s position as the leading farm produce exporter.

In the processing industries, growth of beverages, medicines, pharmaceuticals, machinery and equipment will propel the sector next year.

Reviving tourism, especially domestic tourism that is predicted to triple, will lead to growth in transportation, lodging and dining services, wholesale and retail to the pre-pandemic level, she said.

In order to achieve global trade targets in 2023, Huong suggested firms improve corporate governance practices, and renovate equipment and technology to meet technical and food safety and hygiene standards of importers.

Management agencies were asked to seek solutions for strategic goods, help enterprises make the best use of advantages brought about by free trade agreements, accelerate bilateral and multilateral negotiations with key and promising markets and regions, promote exports to developing, newly emerging and potential markets apart from traditional markets such as the US, the EU, China, East Asia and ASEAN.

Amid uncertainties at home and abroad, Huong said the number of new orders may drop till the end of the first quarter or the second quarter next year, forcing many workers to loss their jobs.

Therefore, the GSO proposed effectively rolling out policies in support of businesses and workers, launching domestic demand stimulation drives, promoting trade and seeking new markets and orders.

At the same time, vocational training establishments should be restructured to ensure the supply of qualified workers while the labour market governance system should be connected with the national database on population and other databases, making it easier to have a general view of labour supply-demand and social welfare.

According to the official, changes in consumption behaviours in the post-pandemic period, proactive production in the agro-forestry-fishery sector, remarkable growth of industrial production, high travelling demand and new-generation free trade agreements contributed to Vietnam’s economic growth this year./.

Vietjet looks to remain as largest airline operating between Vietnam and China in 2023

China’s moves to resume international tourism from January 8 next year are believed to be a positive sign for aviation activities between Vietnam and China.

Nguyen Thanh Son, Vice President of Vietjet, said: “After China lifts pandemic prevention restrictions and the tourist visa policy between the two countries is resumed, Vietjet will prioritise reopening air routes to China, firstly the flights from major economic and tourism hubs of Vietnam to populous cities of China, in 2023. Our goal is to completely restore the network of flights to China to pre-pandemic levels in the first six months of 2023, thereby retaining the position of the leading operator of commercial flights between the two countries and continuing to raise the flight number by 20-30% from the pre-pandemic period to nearly 100 flights per day by the end of 2023.”

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietjet was the leading airline in terms of the number of routes between Vietnam and China, accounting for about 50% of the total between the two countries. As of the start of 2020, it had connected six cities of Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat, and Phu Quoc) with over 50 provinces/cities of China such as Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Tianjin, Wuhan, Kunming, and Xi’an, with nearly 80 flights per day at its peak.

Vietjet has been quickly resuming air routes linking Vietnam with Chinese destinations since October 2022, with those from Ho Chi Minh City to Hangzhou and Chengdu being the first. At present, it is operating five air routes from HCM City to Hangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Wuhan.

China has just reopened its door after many years while the tourist visa between the two countries has yet to be resumed, so the number of visitors remains limited. Vietnam and China have just granted visas for diplomatic, labour, commercial, and studying purposes.

To meet the demand for safe and quality international travel after the pandemic, Vietjet recently put into use wide-body aircraft A330, aside from the existing modern A321 and A320 fleet, along with the SkyBoss Business ticket class that features many exclusive privileges and priorities, including private cabins and a diverse menu with hot and fresh meals and a wide range of beverages. Travel and healthcare products, services, and conveniences on Vietjet aircraft are also being introduced widely to passengers on the carrier’s flights to India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan (China), etc./.

Public satisfaction reflects efficiency of administrative reform: PM

Public and corporate satisfaction should be used to measure the efficiency of administrative reforms, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said at a year-end conference held by the Ministry of Home Affairs in Hanoi on December 29.

Reforming administrative procedures is among the key tasks for 2023 with people and businesses at the centre, the leader said.

He asked the sector to continue contributing to building a streamlined, efficient and effective administrative apparatus, in tandem with personnel restructuring and training.

To fulfill these tasks, the sector needs to build and perfect relevant institutions and policies and improve the quality of their work, while revamping its personnel management.

Chinh also highlighted the significance of improving the domestic business environment, raising national competitiveness, and enhancing digital transformation towards a digital government, digital economy and digital society.

He urged the sector to raise the efficiency of state management over religions and beliefs, encouraging religious dignitaries and followers to participate in socio-economic development, national defence and security, and promote religious values.

According to a report presented at the conference, in 2022, the sector coordinated to submit tens of important documents and projects to competent agencies for issuance, including two draft laws and six resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee, along with 10 decrees and decisions of the Government and the PM.

It proposed adjusting the monthly base wage for civil servants from 1.49 million VND (63.08 USD) to 1.8 million VND. Later the same day, PM Chinh attended the launch of a national database on civil servants./.
